Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well. Please read through the entire newsletter. There is a lot of important information. Our boys did really well at the fall Cabrini League. Congratulations to them. The date of the parent fundraiser has been determined. Please note the date below. The winter strength and agility trainings are off and “running” with Nick Sita. See details below and your son can still join. Also, a reminder to pay for the winter elite league if you are playing. There will be another spirit wear order coming in February. We wish you and your families a wonderful holiday season and a wonderful 2022! As always, please reach out to anyone on the Boosters if you have any questions or concerns.

Winter Training

Conestoga Boys Lacrosse team is again conducting winter strength and agility training from December thru February 2022 at Mainline Sports. This is an optional, team development opportunity, for new and returning players to prepare for the 2022 Spring season. These are purely optional and do not determine team placement. Held at the Main Line Sports Complex (1340 W Swedesford Rd, Berwyn), the boys are provided with use of the complex on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm. Nick Sita, a professional trainer, is running the program. The sessions are $199 per month. Contact Nick for sessions and custom pricing if you can’t attend all sessions. Npsita@aol.com

You can also reach out to Jeff Merschel for questions / details.

Early bird gets the worm…

…And stick skills! Coaches have organized voluntary stick skills training on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:50am to 7:30am at the high school gymnasium. These trainings do not determine team placement and are open to all new and returning players. The boys are catching up on sleep during math class (just kidding).

Holiday Lacrosse Ornaments are available

The holiday spirit just isn’t complete without a Conestoga Boys Lacrosse Holiday Ornament. 1 for $10 or 2 for $15. Contact Erin Preston for an order. Epres218@gmail.com or you can Venmo our treasurer at @vince-wagner-5

Booster Club Volunteers

It takes many dedicated volunteers to support the operations of the Booster Club and the lacrosse teams. Currently, we are looking for members for next year for treasurer and fundraising. Please reach out to Jeff Merschel for details. Jmersch1@gmail,com

Parent Social

Mark your calendar! The parent social is tentatively planned for Friday, February 11th at La Cabra. We are mixing it up again this year with the girls team. Guest bartenders, Beer, Food, and fundraising with the community! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please contact Erin Preston if you would like to help. More details to follow. It should be another great event. Hope to see a lot of you there!

Spring Break

Although it seems far away, we know that many of you are already thinking about Spring Break and making travel plans. We wanted to make sure that everyone was aware that players on the Varsity and JVA teams will have mandatory practices and games during the first part of Spring Break from April 8th through the 12th.. JVB will not have any practices or games during Spring Break.

Spring Tryouts and Schedule

There will be a Spring Sports Meeting at Conestoga High School in February. Be on the lookout for a notification from the school. Spring PIAA sports forms must be submitted to the school by the end of February. Remember if your son didn’t play a fall or winter sport that you need a physical and doctor sign off. We anticipate spring tryouts to begin on Monday, February 28th. More information will be given when we are closer to these dates. The sports forms can be found on the Conestoga High School website under the “athletics” tab. First scheduled scrimmage for varsity is March 12th at Penn Charter. Away scrimmage for varsity on March 19th in Summit, NJ. First game with varsity and JVA is home versus Gilman (MD). Then the conference kicks off March 29th with a home game versus Radnor.

Cameras installed at Teamer Field

Yes, finally, Teamer field now has Hudl cameras installed at the field so all games will be filmed. The entire central league has signed up so all conference games will have game film now. The boosters will pay for non league game film.
